Home or hospital pedagogical care is characterized by the impossibility of the student attending the school environment in person due to a certain illness, according to the ICD declared by a doctor. Therefore, this article aims to present home or hospital pedagogical care in the municipal network of Juiz de Fora/MG, based on data collected in the years 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The theoretical perspectives of Paulo Freire (1996 ), Antônio Nóvoa (2019) and Brazilian legislation are the basis for the discussion of this article. It is possible to see that over the course of this trajectory, of which we made a cut (2021 to 2024), there was a significant increase in the number of students served through home-based pedagogical care in the municipality. It is notable how much progress the municipal network of Juiz de Fora has made in guaranteeing the rights of students who need home pedagogical care, however there is a long way to go, therefore the coordination between different bodies and institutions so that the modality is guaranteed and carried out quality for the student is a challenge.
