The project developed at E. M. Maria José Villela, focusing on the "Right to Community Coexistence" (2023), found in the literary work ‘O Menino que Colecionava Lugares’, by Jader Janer, a rich starting point to awaken the interest of 1st period students for their community and the preservation of memories. This project was developed at the school with the participation of the teacher and the pedagogical coordinator, both members of the LEEI extension project. Janer's sensitive narrative, which addresses the themes of memory and belonging, served as a guiding thread for reflections on the importance of valuing spaces and the relationships that constitute them. Through conversation circles, artistic expression activities and the creation of a collective box of memories, children were invited to share their own experiences and build personal narratives, intertwining their experiences with those of the book's protagonist. The results highlighted the potential of children's literature as a pedagogical tool for integral development, stimulating curiosity, creativity and a sense of community. The experience demonstrated that, by exploring the "Right to Community Coexistence" in a playful and meaningful way, based on the work of Jader Janer, it is possible to strengthen children's bond with their surroundings and encourage the construction of plural identities and personal narratives, essential for the formation of critical and participatory citizens.
