ABSTRACT
Reading instruction and the literacy are very much discussed today, so that there is quality education. So, we intend to think about these perspectives in education of young people and adult. The main goal is to encourage the reflection about on teaching practice in the context of young people and adult education, in which the reading instruction process is inseparable from literacy, based on the use of textual genres. Therefore, it will possible to value the students previous experiences end knowledge, with the use of genres that circulate in society, in order to expand subjects world reading and enable the real use of writing and reading in social practices. The methodology used was bibliographic review. With this research, was possible to perceive that the textual genres are an important pedagogical practice in education and together with objectives systematized by the teacher, they provide a meaningful learning.
