The main objective of the research that gave rise to this article was to investigate the production of meanings through tasks related to Financial Education, especially when faced with problem situations involving the topic of Family Budget. This study is part of a broader project that aims to include Financial Education as a cross-cutting theme in the curriculum of the Mathematics discipline in Basic Education. The approach adopted in the investigation is qualitative in nature, and is theoretically based on the Semantic Fields Model, which provides support for the analysis of the meanings produced by students when interacting with the proposed activities. The field research was carried out in a public school and involved Elementary School students. An important part of the investigative process consisted of the elaboration of specific pedagogical tasks on the Family Budget, with the intention of applying them in the classroom. The intention was to promote meaningful reflections on finances in the students' daily lives, encouraging the development of conscious attitudes regarding personal and family financial planning, from the early years of schooling.
