In this study, games are examined in detail from the perspective of renowned authors in the field of education, who emphasize their relevance in the pedagogical context. Moreover, the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN) stress and recommend the use of games as a fundamental educational tool. Games are considered strategic resources that can enrich the teaching and learning process by promoting students' cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Through the works of authors such as Piaget, Huizinga, Murcia, Benjamin, Macedo, Petty, and Passos, this article seeks to demonstrate that games not only make learning more dynamic and engaging, but also provide opportunities for the practical application of concepts, problem-solving, and collaboration among students elements that are essential for a well-rounded education.
